Job Duties for landscaper are, but not limited to trimming, weeding, mowing, raking, debris removal. Workers must be aware, efficient and focused at all times. Landscape work is physically demanding, and requires the ability to perform repetitive bending, stretching, stooping, lifting, etc.

Essential Functions:

Using hand and/or power tools or equipment to perform a wide range of landscape and irrigation duties
Plants vegetation as instructed, grads, digs, spreads mulch or rock
Clear trenches, dig holes, and perform handwork as necessary using a pick, shovel, or other hand tools
Maintains tools and equipment to ensure safety
Performs general clean up at the work site
Thinks ahead and completes tasks efficiently
Attends safety meetings
Demonstrates the ability to work independently
Plants vegetation as instructed
Provides excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, work-site partners, and company staff in a courteous and efficient manner
Working in the high Arizona desert heat where temperatures could get as high as 120 degrees
Perform plant removal, replanting of lawn, converting lawn areas to planters, or planters to lawn, replace broken sidewalk, lay mow strips, mulch, prune and plant trees.
Serve as backup to interior, landscaping maintenance, gardening, irrigation technology and grounds person job or job function.
Remove or plant grass, utilize garden tools including rakes, shovels, picks, etc.
Dig trenches and set up cement forms for sidewalk replacement, mow strips, and planters.
Utilize pruning and trimming equipment to maintain trees and shrubs.
Operate lawn maintenance equipment including a 36" mower, blower, gas powered trimmer, and other power equipment.
Water plants, lawns, and gardens.
Apply fertilizer in accordance with scheduled use and application standards.
Perform plant, weed, trim, and blow activities
Remove materials from overhead racks on truck and transport materials from site to site.
Handle tools, dig, plant, hand removal of weeds, trim trees & shrubs properly

Requirements:

18+ Years of age
Able and willing to work a physical job outside all day, year round.
Must be able to comfortably lift and carry at least 65 pounds. (debris & equipment)
Must have your own reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
Must pass background check.
Must pass drug screen
Steel toed boots, large brimmed hat, protective clothing from the elements, gloves.

Work Environment

Ability to work in extreme conditions – temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit
Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time/entire shift
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. (debris & equipment)
Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day
Ability to operate a truck with trailer/gate and ramp for loading, unloading and transport of equipment
Ability to stand for 5 minutes, walk for 2 hours and sit for 30 minutes consecutively
Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 20 pounds. Distance carried - 50 feet maximum.
Ability to handle items such as plants, bushes, hoses, shovels, rakes, and burlap bags – which are handled by two workers.
Ability to lift 30-50 lbs. (120 lbs. trees lifted and carried by 4 individuals) a distance of 20 feet for planting.
Ability to push/pull, twist, and turn trees with a force of up to 35 lbs. when planting trees.
Must be able to bend at the waist when picking up leaves, branches, trimming, mowing, digging trenches, setting forms, and planting.

Physical Requirements

Frequently stand, walk, or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects; walk for long distances and on sloped ground and uneven surfaces; move, lift, and carry heavy objects;
